The Asian art collection, in A View from Here: Reimagining the AGGV Collections, highlights how materials first served functional needs before inspiring artistic expression. Inspired by the exhibition, discover the art of handmade paper and basic bookmaking in this 6-week course. Learn traditional mould-style papermaking, and experiment with texture, colour, and materials to create unique paper sheets. Participants will incorporate their custom papers into beautifully hand-constructed books, developing skills and confidence in both crafts while emphasizing the centuries-old link between materials, function, and art.
