AGGV Studio - 1040 Moss Street
Each week, young artists will be introduced to a new artwork from our exhibitions and respond to the ideas they discover in the AGGV studio, exploring a wide range of concepts, materials and techniques to create unique works of art with our skilled educator April Caverhill.
During the 9-week spring session, young artists will create pastel dream landscapes, still life acrylics, and investigate traditional Chinese ink painting inspired by local artists Chrystal Phan, Yumie Kono, and Andy Lou from the Crossing exhibition. Looking closer at the artworks from the exhibition A View from Here, students will take easels outside to try plein-air painting, explore printmaking and discover how to use acrylic inks on acetate. And finally, they will create their own sculptures after looking closely at the work of Brendan Lee Satish Tang, currently a judge on the television series, Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down.
