Arctic Claims [was] a series of photographs made by Tara Nicholson over a period of two years. During the summer of 2015, Nicholson travelled to Greenland to make photographs while in residence t the University of Copenhagen Arctic Station on Disko Island. The station, founded by a Danish botanist in 1906, is a scientific research laboratory set within a nature sanctuary. By observing faculty and graduate students at work, Nicholson brings forth visualisations of people as they "do" science, working to demystify the spaces within which science is conducted.
